World Laboratory Day
The University of Lahore 1 - KM Defence Road, Lahore

The University Institute of Medical Lab Technology (UIMLT) in collaboration with Faculty of Allied Health Science (FAHS) and the Society of Allied Health Sciences (SAHS), the University of Lahore (UOL) observed a walk on World Laboratory Day on April 23, 2019. The walk started from Engineering Block and ended at Courtyard, the University of Lahore. The walk was intended to celebrate a workplace where great inventions, discoveries and cures are born and aimed to draw attention  that laboratory technology  has  become probably the most important part of today’s medicine.

Under the initiatives of Head of Department (UIMLT), Prof. Dr. Nazar Ullah Raja, all the faculty members and the students participated enthusiastically in the walk. The participants wore grey thematic shirts and carried hand- held banners and posters in the walk.

The Director Academics and the HOD of University Institute of  Physical Therapy (UIPT), UOL, Dr. Ashfaq Ahmad participated in the walk as a chief guest. Heads of various departments including Dr. Jamshaid Ahmed, the HOD of Sports Sciences and Physical Education (SSPE), Mr. Muhammad Afzal, Principle Lahore School of Nursing (LSN), Dr. Sajid Shaheen,  HOD of  University Institute of  Radiological Sciences & Medical Imaging Technology (UIRSMIT) and the president, Society of Allied Health  Sciences  ( SAHS), Mr. Umar Israr Bhatti also actively participated in the walk. While enunciating the theme of the walk, Prof. Dr. Nazar Ullah Raja, asserted that laboratories play a pivotal role in scientific research, experiments, and diagnosis of diseases and physicians' decisions can hardly be imagined without a laboratory. Mr. Muhammad Afzal and Dr. Sajid Shaheen appreciated the faculty members and the students of UIMLT who worked ardently to make the event successful and indelible   At the closure, the organizers were awarded shields followed by the cake cutting ceremony and group photographs.
